Please note that when searching by Composer or by Work, it is best to enter one distinctive word, so for example, if you are searching for works by Mozart, simply enter "Mozart", not "Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart". Similarly, if searching for works called The Firebird Suite, simply enter "Firebird", not "The Firebird Suite by Igor Stravinsky".
I must stress that the way I have arranged the parts is only one possibility. Different orchestras work in different ways, and it is always best to refer to the Principal Percussionist. The number of players needed can be affected by space on stage, and whether there is time between works in a concert situation to move instruments around. I should also mention that the pecking order of parts is also a matter of personal opinion, and the purpose of the database is to work out how many players are needed and what each player plays, rather than to decide which parts are more important than others.
